Paying compensation

If a fire breaks out and spreads into thorn-bushes so that it burns sheaves of corn or standing corn or the whole field, the one who started the fire must make restitution. (Exodus 22:6)

People in poor countries are being hit hardest by climate change.

As individuals, families and churches we can make a difference to the amount of carbon released into the atmosphere.

The carbon calculator

With the Climate Justice Fund carbon calculator, you can easily find out how much carbon dioxide you emit each year.

How does it work?

Just find the church or household that corresponds closest to your situation to calculate how many tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions per year you are responsible for.

Why do this?

Once you’ve worked out your annual carbon dioxide emissions, we’ll show how this compares with the ‘fair share’ average. An online calculation will suggest how you can redress the balance with a donation.

Climate change is an injustice – its worst effects are visited on those least able to cope and on those least responsible for causing them. By giving to the Climate Justice Fund, you’ll become part of the miracle of the global church working together. Any amount you can give will be much appreciated.
